The University of Hawaii Marching Band is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year. On November 9, 2023, it hosted the annual Marching Band Festival, inviting nearly twenty public and private high school bands to participate in the marching band extravaganza. This festival began in 1979 and, this year, the venue was Kaiser High School’s football stadium which was abuzz with supporters — schoolmates, friends, and family. The bands showed off their musical talent and marching skills; some even had elaborate props.

Organized by Koko Head Lion Richard Ching, Hawaii Kai Lions Silvia Ardila, Kelvin Kaneoka, Melissa Mullen, Susan Uehara, and Frances Lum joined Lions from Koko Head Lions Club to help at the entrance as well as drumming up sales of t-shirts, caps, stickers, and reusable bags specially designed for UH Band by Eden in Love.
