May 19th – Awards and Recognition Assembly at Hahaione School

On May 19, 2023, Hahaione School held their Awards and Recognition Assembly to recognize students for their out standing achievements in various categories. Hawaii Kai Lions David Iwana and Ken Nishibun presented award and gift certificates to Sight is Beautiful Poster Contest winners and the school’s hard-working JPOs.

Sight is Beautiful winners received Long’s gift certificates (donated by the Hawaii Kai Lions Club); $20 for 1st place, $15 for 2nd place, $10 for 3rd place and $5 for 4th place. JPOs received $25 Gyotaku Restaurant gift certificates donated by Lion Tom Jones, and $10 shave-ice gift Certificates from Kokonuts (donated by the Hawaii Kai Lions Club).

Lions David and Ken reiterated to the audience of students and parents all that the Lions do to “help people” in the community.
