On July 21, 2023, President Yolisa Ishibashi and Immediate Past President Frances Lum participated in taping an episode for the local Olelo TV station on the Kaimuki High School campus. The Hawaii Kai Lions Club was front and center, with them providing information on the background of the club and discussing the numerous projects which were undertaken in the past. These projects included the major projects of the Father’s Day Breakfast, Hawaii Kai Holiday Parade, and Rescue Tubes; as well as school projects, which included vision and hearing screenings, Koko Head Elementary School’s HI-5 recycling, Hahaione Elementary School’s office remodeling, and Kaiser High School’s concession stand refurbishment. Also included were the environmental projects of storm drain marking and the Safe Sidewalks project.

Lions participating in this event included Yolisa Ishibashi and Frances Lum.

The Hawaii Kai Lions Club wishes to thank the Olelo Community Studios and Kaimuki High School for providing this community television forum, as well as thank Liveable Hawaii Kai Hui as the organizer of the show, “Maunalua, Past, Present, & Future”, which the Hawaii Kai Lions Club’s taped show will be aired under. As a side note, it was suggested that other Oahu Lions Clubs participate in these free tapings to provide the public with information on their clubs.
